Nezu Shrine

画像 054
It's GoldenWeek. Nothing special to do and out of money this year. So I decided to have mini trip around Tokyo.
As a starter, I went to Nezu Shrine by bicycle today.
There was a Azelea Festival. It was pretty busy but I enjoyed eating Manjyu under the sunshine.

Cat Man

Have you ever seen a man with a cat on a leash? This is the proof of the existance. Every morning around seven thirty or on a weekend afetnoon, he appears from a small alley or behind a temple. The funny thing for me is the cat, which is fat, and has a dominating presence. I bet he thinks he is a dog not a cat. Also the owner's appearance is pure comedy.

Today was a perfect ohanami day. My mother came down to Ikebukuro. We had lunch and after that, she took me to a famous discount shop in Okachimachi. Oh God, It was jam packed, and hard to reach shelves you wanted. It was all a bit too much for a dressed up LACOSTE woman.

If I came here again, I would just wear a dirty T-shirt and unwashed jeans and be a total shopping shark.

Sake for the Gods

This bottle will be an excellent talking point for upcoming Ohanami parties. I managed to get this bottle at Uzawa station three weeks ago.
I saw some people snatching up these bottles as soon as staff restocked the shelves. I got ONE as well!! I was so excited. But to be honest, there is a strong doubt whether KoshinoKanbai is the best Sake in the world. In fact, this is SEISYU,which means that it's not 100% pure rice sake. It's no more than 70% pure and the rest of it is supposedly artificial.

I don't think that a company who has the best reputation would make bad sake regardless of the grading. I am confident it will taste great!.

Got up at 7 and ran to a temple. There is a famous lane of cherry blossoms. Apparently, these sakura have been known since the Edo period. It's going to be in full bloom sometime this week. Hoping that the rain doesn't hit the delicate petals.
